icon communityi Relationship Marketing The Key to Getting Leads to Your BusinessI wrote this article because of what I have been noticing on the internet regarding online businesses. It looks like many people are making mistakes regarding the businesses they are getting involved with and what it takes to successfully market them.

There are many business opportunities out there and people are pouring into them like crazy. Some of these opportunities are with companies that have been around for a long time and are solid, proven winners. If you are one of those people that picked a good business opportunity I am happy for you.

But to my dismay, there are many companies out there that are pretty shaky deals. They promise you instant riches – all you have to do is sign up for them, pay your monthly fees, and then you can sit back and rake in the dough. WRONG, this is not how it works.

The fact is, there is a huge failure rate among people trying to start a successful home based internet or network marketing business. Close to 95% of the people that join these online business, whether they are established companies or one of the fly-by-night instant get rich schemes, will fail at making enough money to stay in business.

Assuming you picked a solid business opportunity there is one key fact to consider if you want to be among the successful.

You have to understand the marketing involved to make your business successful. If you don’t know how to market you will most likely fail.

And, you need to understand the most critical piece about marketing and that is the generation of leads.

You must have leads so that you can turn those leads into sales and/or recruit them into your business. The sad part is that most network and Internet marketers fail in the most crucial part of their marketing – lead generation. And the simple reason is usually because they do not know how to market properly. But you can easily change that and get the knowledge you need.

To help you gain a better understanding of the many pieces involved in lead marketing, I am going to lay everything out for you in a relationship diagram or marketing map. (If you are reading this without the benefit of the accompanying video, you can view it on YouTube by doing a search for “Gensplan”.)

The most critical piece of the map is at the middle – the lead capture page. The lead capture page is central to your marketing and once you learn how to do all the different types of marketing they all point back to one thing – and that is your lead capture page.

No matter what kind of marketing you are doing, whether it’s Facebook, MySpace, Adwords, Forums, Blogging, etc., all of that traffic needs to be targeted to go to your lead capture pages.

To repeat, all of your marketing needs to send all of your traffic to your lead capture page.

Fundamentally, the idea is for you to start marketing using any or a combination of traffic generation – lead generation techniques. Then your marketing efforts will direct people to your lead capture page and then you can turn that lead into a buying customer and/or a prospect to join your business.

If all you’re doing is promoting your business, and not capturing leads, you are doing your self a disservice. You must capture the leads and build relationships with the people whose names you capture.

Now when you learn how to market correctly, you will learn how to master these different marketing strategies. You do NOT need to master them all so don’t get intimidated by how many types of traffic marketing there are. Some very successful internet marketers only use 1 or 2 of these tactics, but they focus on them, get good at them, and they take action with them.

You can use things like FaceBook or MySpace to draw traffic to your lead capture page. You can use blogging or article writing to establish yourself as an authority and get traffic to your lead capture page that way. You can also run ads on other people’s sites or use Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing to get traffic to your leads capture page. Pick one to start.

Your lead capture page becomes the entry point into your marketing retention and follow up system, because the traffic that you capture there goes into your Autoresponder.

All the names go into YOUR autoresponder. This is because you need to build a list of your own customers and prospects. This is a key point, because in the majority of internet business out there, all of your efforts go to building a customer list for the company, NOT you!

You need to be doing this no matter what business you are in, whether it’s Qivani, GDI, Amway, etc. You need to get the traffic to your landing page so that you can capture the lead.

The autoresponder becomes your email manager, your marketing follow-up system and your customer retention system.

By using an autoresponder you can stay in touch with your prospects and over time they will be encouraged to either purchase products from you, join your business (if you are network marketing) or become resellers (if you are in affiliate marketing).

Use the email messages you send via your autoresponder list to help your contacts. After all, they wouldn’t have signed up for your list if they didn’t think you had something to give them. So don’t disappoint them. Give them free things, give them education, teach them, and indirectly sell them on your business or products. Give them marketing training and show them how they can be successful with the products you are selling or if they join your business. Under promise and Over deliver!

You can actually earn an income from this. We’ve set ourselves up with products and services so that we can make money even if people don’t join our business. This is because we have built a database of names that we are building relationships with.

So remember, no traffic – no leads, and with no leads you can’t keep your business going.

If you are already running a business, you need to set up a training program so that you can offer even more to your list of people. If you have yet to join a business you need to find a company that provides you with the right kind of marketing training. A good training program should show people how to set up their landing pages and autoresponder and team them on which types of traffic marketing will work best for them.

Remember, you don’t have to use all the different types of marketing to get traffic. You can use blogging, article writing, YouTube/Facebook/Twitter marketing, Video marketing, SEO or Goggle Adwords individually. The important thing is to use at least one of them, get good at it and stick with it.

So don’t waste any more time. Start doing things the right way and get the marketing training you need.

And in keeping with my giving philosophy I am giving you a free 60 minute training video on how to get leads using Google Adwords. This is just one of the tactics we teach and we’ll be happy to show you more.
